Vitally, in regression tests you are trying to see if a regular, repeatable validation can be performed against a product and to demonstrate the product operates in a regular and repeatable manner. Regression testing is a powerful test because you are repeating standard tests over and over; but your project is using time and resource every time it runs the test.
In the Toolkit, you perform regression testing on shipments. By all means, you can perform regression testing on whatever you want or deem fit. However, for each shipment you will demonstrate that you have maintained the integrity of the system and have not introduced any new or hidden defect. It is a risk to impact shipment, so these tests are chosen carefully.
