Lifecycle   »   SETUP   »   SETUP Survey

During the Survey phase we inspect and confirm the project and conduct major analysis of the proposed change whilst confirming the costs and benefits for the project. The trigger for starting the Survey is an approved change proposal. The analysis and research is conducted via a series of intense workshops to explore the project in further detail. The workshops are performed to support Setup Planning, Delivery Planning and Release Planning.

The workshops develop the major planning deliverables for the project which are The Setup Plan derived from the Setup Planning Workshop, The Delivery Plan derived from the Delivery Planning Workshop and The Release Plan derived from the Release Planning Workshop. We also deliver Confirmed Benefits, Refined High Level Costs for the project as well as generate a request for funding the remainder of the project.

The plans are signed off by the business sponsor when they represent the intentions of the business for this project and demonstrate a cost effective approach to deliver the project and the proposed benefits.

We deliver the Setup stage by looking closely at our landscape and Engagement Commitments. We also define and clarify our roles and responsibilities on the project and gain a list of priority stories from the user requirements. The user requirements and the stories that result from them are documented within the Prioritised Story Board.
