The Service Introduction document describes a Deployment Stability assessment followed by implementation of the solution and any back out procedures should the deployment fail.

The Deployment Stability assessment will likely include a final system and acceptance test, data assessment, data integrity check and data conversion, user profiling and user migration, finalising documentation and training requirements, end-user training and demonstration to production personnel prior to the deployment of the final solution into a live environment.

In small web based development the team are often in control of their live environment via secure FTP and other file transfer mechanisms. However in larger, corporate or government organisations the formal handover to often independent service partners is the norm. These formalities require formal and meticulous description. This description process involves a definition of the service that your service management partners will provide and this process is performed in collaboration with your service management partners. This is the Service Definition described elsewhere in the Toolkit.
