In the shipment stages, you will spend time building, versioning, managing and delivering the shipments.

Keeping the individual shipments short makes them easier and more accurate to plan in detail. You will plan each shipment with the project stakeholders who deliver them and, in this way, you have more accurate estimates and greater buy-in from your team.

This enables individuals to take responsibility for their work and empowers them to plan their own work without needing a manager to assign it to them.

The shipments align with the releases as defined in the Release Plan and it was agreed with the Release team, the business and the development team.

Therefore it should have a high degree of accuracy and integrity. Naturally as the project changes the demands and schedule of shipments is likely to alter.

As this occurs you revise the Release Plan and create a new version of the document, thus providing an audit of release management alterations made throughout the project. Get project agreement to the Plan and enact the revised shipments.
