The Big Agile Toolkit: no Dogma, no Bias, no Accreditation, no Exams & no Fees
Your Strategy  Your Strategy   Your Budget   Your Budget

Introduction   »   Overview   »   Your Scope

You will understand, agree and communicate two elements of scope covered by your project. We call these the macro scope and the micro scope. You will understand, agree and communicate the macro scope. This is a definition of the functional and operational area covered by your project. This is the target area of the project that your team will aim for using the agreed approach. Also importantly, you want to understand those areas not covered by your project. You will want to document them both, the areas involved and the areas not involved, before you start.

You will understand, agree and communicate the micro scope. This is a definition of the specific requirements your project will deliver. You will want to document them both, the areas involved and the requirements to be delivered, before you start.

These are important factors in the project to understand, define and communicate both elements of your scope: the sectors of the project and features of the solution.

We debate scope in a lot more detail elsewhere in the Toolkit and introduce some new concepts regarding scope management. Now we need to introduce the important budget element of the project.
